Week 3: Passion, Work and Creative Gifts
Give it up for yourselves 🙌🏼
You’re doing great and a big part of growth is acknowledging how far you’ve come. Give yourself credit for getting outside your comfort zone and putting in the time to create your latest poems!
As I’ve said many times, I never dreamed I would be writing poetry. The fact that I am now hosting my second writing challenge for hundreds of people baffles my mind with the magnitude of this blessing. I thank God for this opportunity to share my passion and journey with you all.
If you are new to this writing challenge or have missed our previous posts, take this as your sign to dive in. You never know where you’ll end up if you follow your heart and take the leap of faith!
Week 3: Passion, Work and Creative Gifts

I am so thrilled to be sharing this week’s focus with you all. I was in a deep prayer the other day and I got this insight that has been helping me and I can’t wait to share it with you all.
I was asking for guidance on how to dive deeper into my purpose work more, and the answer I received was to simply step into the feeling of what I want to experience when I’m giving and offering my best. Envision it, feel it and embody it daily. Simple enough right? So I now take a few minutes in the morning after my meditation and prayer to simply step into the feelings of serving and contributing at my best.
Before we go any further, I want to invite you to do this with me. Then we will further refine and hone this energy into this week’s poem.
Tuning In
The best method I’ve found is to focus your attention inward and close your eyes. You can do it with your eyes open, but make sure you are able to tune out the outside world and avoid distractions. The key here is to get into the energetic state of your Golden Ticket or your most loving and generous self. Envision and feel the experience of giving your best and living your best. If you don’t know exactly what that looks like, that’s okay! Focus on what you want to feel. Feel it and let it soak into your being.
My favourite way to get into this state is to move my body with some music. It’s hard to dance to your favourite tunes and not be feeling your best. So take 5 minutes and throw on your favourite track. You got to give it at least an 8/10 for your enthusiasm of dance moves! The more you get into it the more benefit you’ll get from this exercise. Here is a sample track that you may enjoy grooving to 👇🏼
If you’re unable to dance at the moment or prefer a more gentle approach, you can simply sit with your eyes closed and turn inward to feel those beautiful feelings. Find what works for you and honour your process of getting there. Ask yourself, “What does it feel like to give my best?” Explore where you feel it in your body and how this energy moves within you. This exploration and questioning will help you focus on the feelings and magnify them. As you focus on it, the feeling will automatically expand.
Take Notes!
Grab your pen and paper and write down the feelings you experienced, any visions that came to mind or insights you gained. Just write them down.
Example:
I feel expanded and courageous. I’m excited and filled with energy to be alive! I love exploring the depths of the human spirit and celebrating the journey of life. I feel sharp and focused. My feet are floating off the ground and I feel like I’m flying. I am deeply humbled and feel connected to the earth for strength and optimism. I have everything I need to take the next step. Whatever I don’t have now will present itself when the time is right. There are no limitations to what I can contribute when I am aligned with my heart and focus my mind. I am blessed with everything I need in this moment. I am blessed beyond, I want to share it all with others. Concentrate, Consecrate, Celebrate.
Poem Exercise:
Now you can work with this material to form your poem. Allow it to arrange itself and speak to you. I will often read my notes over and over again to see what pops off the page and what feels like it needs more expansion. The poem is within this feeling and state of being. Allow it to be revealed to you as you feel and play with the words.
If you ever feel stuck or hit a road block, go for a walk and shake your body out. You’ll be able to feel when you’re in the groove of the poem and when you’re forcing it out. Return to your inner feelings and turn on some music if you need to.
The emotional state is the goal. The poem is simply a creative expression of what it feels like for you. Who cares if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else? You have your own style and uniqueness, so honour it and allow it to shine through.
Anchoring the Vision
Once you’re finished, place your poem somewhere meaningful, just as you did with last week’s. Take a moment to reflect and give thanks for this newfound depth of purpose.
If you’re open to sharing your experience or your poem, I encourage you to post it in the comments. Your words might inspire someone else to take a leap of faith of their own.
Continued Blessings!
Graham
Being creative has become something that I'm compelled to recognize and take part in every day in some form or another. Four years ago I allowed my gift of writing to resurface and become a driving force in my life. Sharing it became important to me. Now I try to stay in the flow of that passion and purpose as I receive what I am to share.
A tiny nudge, an inspiration
a word that lingers and floats,
a moment of discovery and awe
becomes an image we make come to life.
An unmistakable gift for capturing
the beauty of our existence
grows into a passion and purpose
to make our introspection become light.
An energy that filters through and out,
an expression of our inner essence
becomes an outward reflection
and connection between God and self.
Creativity is the means by which
our own creation is celebrated;
our gift received is meant to be given
to God and the scope of humanity.
Thank you, Graham for this wonderful gift. I don’t know if this is actually considered a poem or just a revelation.
Come to my table
I went many years thinking I lacked a passion,
consumed by caring for the sick and dying.
When that chapter closed, I felt empty,
knowing I needed to find a new passion.
Passions are unique gifts we often overlook,
yet they've been within us all along.
For me, it started as a family tradition,
a routine gig that evolved over the years.
Cooking is one of my gifts; it's not just food,
but love, warmth, and comfort served on a plate.
I find joy in helping the homeless and those in need,
providing a comforting meal that shows I care.
Seeing the impact on their daily lives,
knowing I've made their day easier and nights more comfortable,
fills me with warmth and a sense of purpose.
I love the challenge of planning menus with family and friends,
especially when serving large crowds.
Preparing a meal for 200 is a feat,
but with many helping hands, we feel complete.
We involve our children, teaching them the gift of giving,
instilling joy and kindness as they grow.
At the serving line, they find delight,
helping others without fear of scarcity.
These meals on a plate are gifts of love,
bringing comfort to those who need a hug.
I cherish having guests at my home,
sharing laughter and carefree moments.
Even small gestures, like finding a special gift,
can bring joy and laughter.
I recall a little pink pig that played a recorded message
bringing delight to a friend's birthday celebration.
That gift was given many years ago
He still finds laughter and Joy in the little pig that yells wee while driving down the road.
So if God has given you special gifts,
share them abundantly, and you'll receive all you give, back tenfold.
