Week 6 of The Artist’s Way has been one of my favourite weeks so far.

I showed up for every task, and something truly shifted. My morning pages feel alive, they’ve become a space where everything is welcome… thoughts, dreams, creative ideas, lists, plans.

One of the most eye-opening parts of this week was looking closely at my spending habits. I chose to track everything in a simple notebook, no apps, just pen and paper. What I discovered humbled me.

While I work hard and long hours, I realised I rarely spend money on myself. I’m not drawn to designer things or material items, instead, most of my spending goes toward others. If someone is in need, I feel called to help.

At the same time, I became aware of how many unnecessary subscriptions had quietly built up over time. Services we weren’t using, people we no longer resonated with. This week, we made the decision to simplify, keeping only what truly adds value.

I got creative this week with my artists dates. I painted three different paintings, I explored pottery, painted rocks, and returned to my kindness rocks garden that I created a few months ago at the hospital. I found myself inspired to create more, adding new pieces with positive messages for others to find and take.

I went back to my notes in the book and here are my answers to your questions ,1. blessed. 2. grateful, 3. I spent less on other people.

Overall, it was a very meaningful experience so far, grateful for the opportunity to be part of this creative journey.

Week six of the artistic journey has been one of my favorites so far. I completed the tasks with so much enthusiasm; answering the questions about money really made me reflect on my priorities, and cutting unnecessary expenses is definitely on my list. Completing the morning pages has already become part of my devotional practice—a truly sublime moment for reflection.

This week, I also gathered flowers—so many flowers—and found some stones. I plan to assign a special meaning to each one, although I haven’t done that yet. I really enjoyed the Zoom meeting and the shared experiences. I had a lovely conversation with Elizabeth in the breakout room, where I shared the tasks I completed and my artist date.

Overall, I feel like I’ve taken another meaningful step on this journey. Once again, thank you so much, Graham, for making this possible for us.

This week on Abundance was a good one for me. Graham has been coaching us over many years through podcasts and activities to step out of our comfort zone (and raising my hand this week was a GIANT step😀) to find our center, our core values, and challenging us to live those values in alignment, integrity, and in tune with a higher power.

After this long journey Graham has sent me on and this week's reading, I realized that I have a lot of abundance in my life. I finally made a decision to make a change in my life that will bring everything into a much needed balance. I know God will provide and I'll be OK. Thank you Graham for providing this community with your coaching.🥰

My answers to your money questions:

1. better at understanding the cost/benefit of appropriate risk taking

2. comfortable

3. I had understood the power of compounding interest earlier in my life

I particularly enjoyed chapter 6 and was going to suggest we do more with this chapter at a later date. But see that this is something you want to pursue further with this group. Great!

What I have learned about myself thus far is that once I focus on myself through morning pages, I slow down and my feelings become more apparent to me. I have noticed small shifts regarding creativity. Nothing grandiose but subtle nudges. This has been a very rewarding and fun experience thus far. Thank you for doing this.

I loved all the side quotes of week six especially "Explore daily the will of God" and "True life is lived when tiny changes occur." I'm learning to be more grateful for the small details in my life and that became my serendipity for this week. Page 105 of our book encouraged us to consider the lilies of the field and then a friend gave me an orchid, which has the most beautiful purple blossoms, a perfect example of God's abundance and creativity.

Thank you for the quick replay as I missed the live this week. I loved the lessons and insights of chapter 6. I believe that we are conditioned by many to believe money is the answer to all our problems. Valerie’s story of her dad helping people find their dream resonated with me and the personal growth lessons that I am embracing from this journey, I am learning to identify my dreams and what I see as abundance in the fullness of life. Thank you, Graham, and others for sharing your stories. I appreciate you and this community as we travel this journey of pages, dates and tasks. I am loving it.

I went back to my notes and here are my answers to 1. People. 2. Less stressed 3. I spent less. 😊

Very creative and meaningful opening to the video! I liked Chapter 6 and concentrated on sorting whether I manage money or it manages me and I ended up feeling that my attitude about money is not a stumbling block for me. I feel blessed in that area. I thought the tasks this week were fun and the one about sending postcards set me up for my artist date. It's interesting to me how simple acts like gathering rocks and leaves can do so much for my inner well-being. I really appreciated all the sharing this week and hearing what others learned from the chapter, too.

Chapter 6 and last week were very good weeks for me. First....1. "just people with money" 2. feel more secure 3. I earned more and spent less. I visited a local art gallery in week 2 and fell in love with a beautiful framed photo. Of course, when I inquired about the one on display, it had already been sold. The art gallery manager connected me with the photographer, and I purchased it from him last week. It was a landscape photo from May 2021. My daughter and I were there about the same time, and I took a photo of Michelle there while pregnant with RJ. Now that photo hangs in my space. It was an expensive week purchasing the photo, new furniture, and a new bike! All my spending aligns with my values. BTW...I loved the tasks, including the rocks, spending, flowers, and favorites list. Again, thank you so much for providing this opportunity and journey for all of us. 😎

Thank you for this week’s session! It helped me reflect on my relationship with money, review how I spend it, and realize that even though I don’t have a lot to spare, I have exactly what I need.

I really enjoy my weekly sessions with the artist; I feel like it’s a space we all need. I also loved the conversation with Valdelice, I was happy to hear about her projects and to share my ideas with her about money and abundance.

Thank you for creating this space for learning and connection.

I’m doing my exercises a little behind. I was going to gather flowers, but I live in Bozeman Montana and we’ve got snow and we don’t have flowers out yet so stay tuned….

Here is a link to an author's contest: https://indieauthorproject.com. This link was given to me by my local librarian. (I love librarians). The Indie-Author project partners with curators and libraries across the U.S. and Canada to find the best indie-published books. (If I understand correctly, an indie book is a self-published book.) This organization is a contest to discover excellent self-published books and is path to getting stories into libraries. Might be worth a review.
