Thank you, Graham, for once again dedicating some of your time to us and always sharing your inspiration!
I’m always in constant prayer and my thoughts are always on God, but I like to set aside a quiet, peaceful moment to have a more intimate and deeper conversation with Him. It truly helps me strengthen my connection with God.
Each of us has our own personal experience with God, and they’re not always the same. We just need to be sensitive to His voice, because sometimes He speaks like a whisper in our ears, and this is so real!
I’m going through a season in my life where I need to live in constant prayer. It hasn’t been easy, but I know God is in control of everything, and I trust this is only a phase.
Thank you again for this wonderful live! Have a blessed weekend! 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you, Graham, for this interesting chat about an often forgotten important aspect of my relationship with God. I needed this reminder. Jesus has said “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me”. To be known I must hear. To hear I must listen. Your words tonight emphasized the power of that simple act of listening, to be receptive always to the guidance, the wisdom and the hope found in my spiritual connection. Thank you! Continued blessings on your journey.
Graham, thanks for getting the replay of the chat out so quickly, just finished watching it..was at family dinner during the live. Listening when praying..is something I have do more as I have gotten older. I had an amazing experience a couple of years ago, I was praying for guidance, answers to a very stressful situation for 3 days. It was so stressful for me that I couldn't eat, got very little sleep and was having a difficult time getting anything done. When Sunday came around, I went to church as usual, doing the whole service I was constantly praying, then I said one last prayer...God I am giving this stressful problem over to you. surrendered it. During the quiet meditation time at end of service, I was overcome with a warm comforting feeling throughout my whole body, the stress left and I know God had answered my prayers. When I got home from church, I had a message with answer to the situation, it was all going to be fine. It was during the quiet time as I was just listening I knew the answer would appear. The feeling was incredible, I now listen more, as I welcome experiencing that feeling again..If I hadn't been open to listening I would have never fully recognized the warmth coming over me. It's hard at times to listen, we have a tendancy to want the answers immediately, this is when patience enters, God knows and answers our prayers, sometimes it may not be the answer we want, listening gives space for guidance and answers to flow. Such a great topic for the chat!
Thank you Graham for the discussion tonight. It helps me a lot to be in this space with so many like-minded souls. In my daily life that isn't necessarily the case.
Discussions like these are helpful for nourishing our passion to reach the highest version of ourselves. Then it's up to us to put the words into actions everyday. We each have our own relationship with God because we are all unique. God is within us so He knows us so well. There's no making up stories about what we are experiencing, or exaggerating right? He knows. So my talks with him feel more like a conversation. Asking for His thoughts and advice. And after that...LISTENING!!
Yes, this topic tonight was right on!
I appreciate your thoughtful insights while relating your own experiences. Getting your perspective has always been valuable to me...I'm very grateful that you continue to serve us in this way.
Thanks for the chat tonight Graham. I found it very interesting as always. Listening when you pray, yes I do that always. Find it very comforting. Mostly when I pray,I pray to thank God for all that he has given me in my life, for which I am so thankful. There are times of course when I may pray to God for a good ending to a confrontation or a bad experience,or a health issue, but never for material things. I especially feel God's presence when I know he is watching over me because he just prevented me from having something go poorly, that didn't and wow, I stop, and I bless myself, and I pray, and thank God. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and experiences. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing this great topic of listening when we pray. I agree, no matter the time of day it is. My focus has been to go to God for guidance, with what im going through, at the time. The nudge, or whisper, helps guide decisions looking for, and just needing to let go of what I want to hear but just be still with what God is trying to show me instead of fighting within myself and learning the answer the hard way.
Hi Graham, I had to listen to the live this evening when I was alone. 1 Samuel 1-21 is a good example of listening. Even though God was calling to Samuel, and he had not yet realized that God was talking to him. It reminded me that we do have to sit still in quiet away from all the business of life, to be able to hear the whispers of God, or the divine as you would say. It is hard to realize sometimes when God gives you that nudge to pay close attention, there was a time last year when I was asked to leave my job and I ignored it and the consequence of not listening to God I ended up losing my job even though I knew God was always with me. I never heard his voice in the times that I prayed. I asked over and over again to give me a sign and what he wanted me to do. Patience is another thing that is very hard to do, specially with a huge loss that I had just encountered. It took six months for me to realize he wanted me to stay close and to be patient I did find a job in January of this year. I’m still praying to him and asking him if this is where I need to be. I gather just from the feelings I am having he wants me to stay where I’m at. I can tell you right now. It’s the hardest thing I ever had to do, but I know he’s got a plan for me even though I don’t know it yet. My mom always said That God knows better than we do and that he has our lives all planned out even before we are born. So I do have to be patient and I do have to listen and stay focused. Just like you said, hold the phone close so that you can always hear his voice or just a little whispers. Graham, this was such an inspiring conversation. I truly hope you have more conversations like this. I hope you had a good workout. Take care and blessings to you as always.
In Prayer, Let us hear His Voice and Feel His presence. Always Pray, it’s the most powerful tool against worry, doubt and fear. Prayer is a long rope with a strong hold, take time to listen while praying as it is the armor against all trials. Listening to God’s voice is the secret of the assurance that He will also listen to your prayers.
I definitely agree that I need to listen more to the answers for prayer. Sometimes those answers don’t come in a timely manner and they are answered at a different time. I try to have an attitude of gratitude as well when praying. There’s always something to thank Him for. I have two teenage kids and an elementary kid. I am always praying for their protection and guidance. I thank God definitely for what I have. I pray daily for strength and consideration as a single Mom. Some of my friends see being a single Mom as a life sentence. I don’t. I’m showing my kids that they shouldn’t behave a certain way. This is 9 more years. Yes, I will always be a Mom, but it gets easier in some ways as they get older. Therefore, I pray for strength and understanding because both are tested daily. I believe God will get me through. I know that divorce is a sin, but I have prayed for forgiveness and I wasn’t willing to stand for certain behaviors. I just pray that my heart isn’t hardened by this harsh world.
Thank you, Graham, for another great live. Your words remind me of the importance of silence, listening, letting go of control, and trusting what life shows us.
This reminds me of my college communication class. For communication to occur, you need a sender (speaker), a message, and a receiver (listener). I believe prayer is another word for communication. It goes both ways - speaking and listening. It's time for me to be a better listener and improve my communication via prayer. I have a plan to do this. Thanks for the replay.
Graham, I meditate on God throughout my day. But when I start the day, preferably early in the morning before the voices and noise begin, I read the Bible and sit in silence, that's when I hear best. It isn't easy to talk and listen at the same time. So after prayer, it's important to listen for the small voice that whispers answers and guidance that I might otherwise miss. Thank you for this topic and your insight.
I try to be patient and listen most of the time. But I will admit I ignored what God said at times and later regretted not listening. I knew immediately that I had made a bad choice. I try to listen more carefully now. God knows my heart and always takes care of me, if I just take the time and listen. ❤️🙏
