I have to be honest I’m quite shocked with everything that is happening right now and find it very difficult to watch news . My heart truly hurts. When things like this happen, I really lean into prayer and my faith, it’s what helps me hold onto hope. I try to ask myself, how can I be a light and bring compassion to someone today? How can I support them? Even the smallest act of compassion and kindness can ripple out, and I think that’s how we keep each other going through hard times like these.May Charlie Kirk, and Iryna Zarutsk Rest In Peace 🙏 My prayers and thoughts are with their families🙏🥹

Irene, thank you. Unfortunately, I am not to shock with what is happening. I have years of processing my mental compass and have a clear understanding of what's going on with empathy and compassion. It allows me to concentrate on what my mission is. Thank you. With love.

As I reflect on recent events my thoughts goes to what are we feeding our minds. It seems to me that there is a lot of emphasis today on what we feed our bodies, the health of our young people, but we spend little on what goes into our minds. From graphic content to hateful conversations there is so much that can pollute the mind. You are what you eat is a common phrase, but what about you are what you read, what you focus on, what you absorb. For me I seek out the facts of what happened, because for me it is important to stay informed. I process the facts with trust in God and prayers for more compassion and understanding in our world. I pray for a healthier mind diet and more conversations like this one. Thank you, Graham, for providing this talk to help us focus on what and how we feed our minds and how we process the facts and emotions. Continued blessings.

graham i’m so glad you talked about what has happened recently i am so heartbroken and still in shock from the two events that have happened recently. at first i was angry over it all as they have brought back memories of the boston marathon bombings. where 4 young people lost theirs lives one which was just 8 yrs old. these images from then and now are still in my head especially the young 23 yr old women iryna zaruska hits hard for me as no one came to help her as she realized what was happening to her. people are getting too decentized by these horrific actions. i feel for her parents so far away in ukraine never to see their daughter again. also for Charlie kirk’s family his wife and two very young children. i am trying to hold space for myself and all these people who witnessed these tragic events. i pray that compassion, empathy and love for one another will comeback to this world.

Graham, thank you for such an insightful chat last evening. Before the chat even began, I had a feeling what the topic might be. The status of the the United States is very uncomfortable right now. I live about forty miles from the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and it seems that a day doesn't go by that there isn't a shooting somewhere in that area. So often it seems to involve young people.Teenagers. The school shootings are very scary for me. I have a husband, a daughter, and a granddaughter who are all school teachers. So many people witnessed that shooting of Charlie and many of them were young children. Witnessing that will surely impact them. My heart aches for his young family. Graham, you have a calmness when you speak and share, a treasure for all of us. Thank you again very much. Blessings! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

Graham, I’ve been reflecting on everything that has unfolded over the past few days and months, and my heart feels heavy. It’s been such a challenging time for so many of us. I step back and adopt a wait-and-see perspective, which isn’t always easy, but it works for me. The sheer amount of information we’re bombarded with can be overwhelming, and I often question the narratives. It’s important to consider who is sharing this information and their intentions. Many news outlets and social media platforms seem more focused on being first to share their ideologies rather than seeking the truth, which can fuel confusion and heightened emotions, creating mob mentality. I believe it’s important to sift through details carefully, relying on wisdom, intuition, and prayer. It’s a concern when people accept narratives without question. I truly appreciate your willingness to engage in these conversations and create a safe space for everyone to express their thoughts respectfully. Your kindness really shines; maybe we could make the world better if we all showed more compassion and kindness. 🙏

Good evening Graham I like Kathleen as soon as you came on last night I knew that you would be talking about Charlie Kirk. It’s hard to imagine all the hatred that is in this world. God did not create us to hate this much. He created us in his image. We have to get back to the values that we hold so dear. Each morning when I get up and do my daily things I sit down and do my daily devotions. I pray that what I am reading I can use that day and every day. I truly hope that the world will change and the only way we can change is if we turn back to God. Ever since this horrific act has not only changed Charlie’s family’s life, it has also changed the lives of that person that has taken Charlie’s life. The school shootings that has happened all around from state to state not only has it changed the lives of those that are lost. It has changed that person as well. My heartfelt prayers for everyone involved, including Iryna, Charlie and all the people who lost their lives in our schools. May we look towards God so we can be better people to those around us.

Thanks for having this conversation, Graham. I wish I could have attended live. I was listening to a live podcast by one of Charlie's friends when the news hit and the host just lost it. Unfortunately I saw video that I wish I had not seen. Like you, my feelings ran the gambit until I felt a numbness. I realized I needed to unplug from the onslaught of online rhetoric around Charlie's death. I journaled my thoughts, which helped with the processing. I'm glad you brought up "A More Beautiful Question" because that book transformed the way I process things now. So yesterday I finally got to the place of asking, "What good can possibly come from this? How would Charlie want to be remembered?" Whatever people think about what Charlie espoused, he did not deserve to die for it. But I believe God is good and good can come. I think that's what Charlie would believe as well.

Cathey, thank you and you are so absolutely right that Charlie didn't deserve to die. He was a brilliant young man regardless "whatever people think about what Charlie espoused," A young man who died too soon. He left a legacy that was his mission, and I believe that his mission was accomplished that to be emulated for generations by young people. My prayers go out to his wife and family. Thank you for sharing.

I was heartbroken by the recent events. Thank you for sharing this in the chat — it was a necessary conversation. We live among people who can be sick and insensitive; all we can do is ask God to protect us and care for the people we love. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts with us.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend! 🙏🏻✨

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, reflective perspective and how you were processing what has recently happened in the world. As you were speaking I was journaling my own thoughts, reflecting on my process of working through my feelings. The world today is going through a difficult time, it is our responsibility to continue to let the light of positivity shine as we work through the trying times with respectful communication. My daily prayers are for God’s love to shine through, for the peaceful

healing of the broken hearted, hurting people, for openness to understanding others with respectful conversations to prevail and the grace of God be felt by all. Blessings

Thank you, Graham, for your very heartfelt and calming live chat last night. I am still trying to come to terms with all that has happened over the past couple of days. I pray for Charlie’s young family as well as Iryna’s family. Adding the remembrance of 9/11 contributed to more anxiety. I pray continuously for educators, students, and first responders and have faith that this world will be a better place some day.

Two of my favorite songs that reflect what is going on in Americas. Marvin Gaye-"What's Going On," and Alan Jackson "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning that September Day)." Those songs bring me comfort, empathy, and compassion for the many lives that have been destroyed with guns, and the second most powerful weapon, I believe are our Words the effect that have on human lives when presented with negativities. This country has been through a Civil War, Wars, The Civil Rights Movement, Women Rights and so many more and I believed that it will continue to survive all of the latest horrific killings that have been happening. What is my mission that I am to contribute to humanity is the question that I ask myself as I work on changing my inner-self. I believe that everyone has a mission that only he/she can fulfill that will make a difference to society. Thank you. With Love, Gloria.

Thanks, Graham. This was a very thought-provoking chat about what’s going on in our world and yes processing. This is sometimes difficult and it gets hard watching the news because it’s sad but we have to stay strong. We are the only ones that can make change and it has to be constant And that’s what I’m saying I go to my legislators. I talk to them about gun control because I know that that is truly a key element we can’t place blame on the Republican or the Democrat. It is society. It’s an illness that has been provoked and it starts from the top. Everyone has to be involved in the change, but if your top leaders don’t wanna make change in the right direction it’s gonna be very hard to stop. The kind of rhetoric that’s happening. All I can do is pray to God every day that we the people take care of each other

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and insights Sheila.

I've thought a lot about gun control for many years. I was in Japan in 2010 and had a conversation with some friends about their laws in Japan. They are much more strict with civilian owned firearms and far fewer gun related deaths.

I understand the approach to restrict firearms to minimize gun violence and potentially stop these mentally ill individuals from committing horrible crimes. If it's much harder to get a gun, maybe they will not harm others.

My thinking leads me to questioning root cause of these violent people. They must be someone who is in a huge amount of pain to want to harm or kill other innocent people. I believe that they will find a way to do so regardless of laws. Example: Driving a car through a crowd of people can inflict a similar amount of harm.

We cannot ban everything that can be used as a weapon and at the same time I do believe there needs to be a line drawn somewhere that classifies certain weapons as not for the public. A nuclear weapon definitely being one of them.

I believe there is a need for ongoing debate and discussion around where this line would best be drawn.

I believe while that discussion and debate is being handled, my best course of action is to support those who are hurting and in pain to heal and deal with their trauma so they don't get to the point of harming someone else.

Thanks for your comment. It inspired me to share a bit more here.

Graham, thank you so much for sharing your insights and offering clarity in a peaceful way during a horrible time. First, I am American and I don’t always see the hostility that the news portrays. The media has been painting everything in a bad light. Second, what happened to Charlie Kirk is absolutely horrible. I will continue to pray for his wife and children. I just wrote a post earlier about being the light in the world. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for being a positive light in the world today. I find my strength and reason in God and Jesus. Praying is the action and belief that I have when the world seems to be spinning out of control. I can’t watch the news right now and I’m limiting my social media interactions as well. I’m just in a state of quiet reflection right now, but I am ok. We all heal and process things differently. Yesterday was also the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in New York City, and I tried to just keep things simple yesterday. An assassination, school shooting, a young lady killed on public transportation for no apparent reason, and then the anniversary of 9/11 has hit hard, but my first thought this morning after dropping my teenage son off at sports practice this morning involved be the light as I saw the sunrise. We can be the light or add to the darkness. I am going to try to continue to add light. Praying that everyone has a safe and restful weekend.

I'm sorry I missed the chat last night. I tried to get on but kept breaking up. I just watched the replay. Thank you. I prayed for those people who were in the streets celebrating Charlie's death. It's hard to believe that we can do this over someone's life. It made cry for his wife and his babies.

Graham I continued to reflect on last night’s chat about the wave of recent violence. Were it not that we pause to reflect on how these events affect us, we might become anesthetized to them - so thank you. I pray that God will continue to provide you revelation beyond human insight and that your spirit will remain pliable to His governing will over your life so that your gifts and reach bless and bring positive change in the hearts and lives of more people than most of us have the opportunity to influence.

Best,

Debra
