Graham, beautiful poem and reflection. Thank you for sharing. I can relate to a great deal of what you shared as I look to the Holy Spirit within me to help me recognize when I’m resistant to change or I’m distracted for some reason. I’ve learned to ask God, “What am I to learn from this?” I do my best to ask that so I don’t sit with resistance that much.
One of the most patient people I have met is Don McLeod. Your friend and mine Donnymac. Just being friends with him has taught me how to wait and appreciate that time of waiting. He doesn’t go into a job without praying about it first. He is a genuine person and I love that about him. Even when things are dicey for him he keeps his faith in tact. In 50 years of knowing people he is a rare find.
Beautiful poem and message! It inspires me to look at my own reactions with more calm and compassion and to learn from every experience, even the most difficult ones. Thank you for motivating us to reflect on our inner world.
Thank you, Graham, for the choice and the timing of this poem. It is one of my favorites and timely because lately I am losing patience with myself in the balance of time. The balance of spending time online, in so many directions, and missing out on my life that presents itself each day right in front of me in moments that will never come again. I went out this morning to my favorite thinking spot, my bridge in the woods, and just listened in that present moment that will never come again. There was the answer. Continued blessings!
Linda, I feel your heart. Lately, I've been online and realizing that I'm missing some very important moments with myself, families and friends. Graham, I truly appreciated the conversation. Thank you both so much
Love this poem Graham, I love all of your poems, nice that you shared it with us once again. Sorry you had some travel issues. As I was reading about Air Canada strike I wondered if you may have been caught up in that. Will definitely be looking forward to the after party this week. Blessings!!🌞🙏🏻❤️
Graham, I loved the poem and reflection. Patience in God's waiting room can be tough for me at times. Trusting His timing and releasing my will, desires, and expectations can be hard, but ultimately, when I do, I find peace, guidance, and blessings beyond my expectations. I'm glad you returned safely to Australia.
I have become impatient with my lack of time due to allowing my life to become a bit hectic of late and in turn becoming impatient at family members for placing ‘expectations’ on them!
My cup becoming full!
Timely reminder to stick to the slow lane and say ‘No’ which I do find hard…
My ‘gift’ is acknowledging that when I do stop is to see the beauty around me and be appreciative of what I have!
My family, my home, my health, my faith, friends and the gift of my 3 grand babies :)
When I Stop, take big deep breadths, play calming music, praying in my quiet place, all does bring me back to where I need to be!!!
It is so easy to get carried away in certain moments and forget what’s important. I am happy I have been able to give you a little nudge through my words. Take one day at a time!
We are God’s workmenship not a finished product, we are a “work in progress”. God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. Remind yourself that you are here to learn lessons, extend compassion to yourself, trust yourself, and believe in yourself. There are no mistakes, only lessons! Beautiful poem!
Thank you for sharing this poem. I have your postcards and this poem is one of my favorites. It helps me to open my thoughts. Glad to hear that you are back in Australia. Blessings dear to you and Paola. See on Wednesday.
This is a great poem and with a very good message to me. Take a deep breath, and wait to not be in such a hurry to get a solution. God’s time , not mine. Patience has never been one of my “ virtues”. Working on that daily. Thanks for the reminder. Blessings and prayers on your Journey.
Graham, thank you for sharing your poem and your thoughts behind it. It very much resonates for me and I'm thankful that it is helping you live in the circumstances and challenges you are facing in your life. It helped me with a clearer awareness in my own life, that I tend to be more compassionate with others facing these emotions and challenges, than with myself. For example, I emphasize with others that what God offers in His loving call is more in the form of invitation rather than expectation. Yet I often feel it and treat myself as needing to fulfill expectations of God and others. One of my favorite reflections for the needs of others, is to offer the beautiful words from Psalm 95 "If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts." And yet I harden my heart ... am less open to God's voice ... when I get in to my "got to get 'er done" mindset. I'm often driven by my own sense expectations and responsibilities, and less open to God's voice, God's guidance for me. Thank you for your poem and reflection that helps me see this in my own life. Prayers and blessings for you and Paola.
