Alone, but not Lonely

Tuesday Reflections

Welcome back my friends.

This week I’m excited to share another poem from Cheryl Floris. She previous shared a poem here on Tuesday Reflections called, “I’ll Chop Wood”.

I met Cheryl, her husband and their two children last year while I was on the road. Cheryl has a talent for expressing her growth and insights after processing the death of her father in a tragic car accident. I hope you enjoy this poem and can make some time to reflect on your own loved ones who have passed.

And now over to Cheryl and her poem, “Alone, but not Lonely”.

I am alone but,

I am not lonely

I speak to my ancestors who’ve

come before me,

all the ones who have gone too soon

We speak with the sun

Laugh with the moon

Tell stories of similarities because

our paths are all the same

Some longer than others and

many full of pain

I journey forward with love and care

for those who help hold my soul

Knowing this is the last trip for a spirit

ancient as mine, as our

For I am them and they are me

I am alone, but I am not lonely
