spending habits. Did you keep track of your spending this week?

“Often our spending differs from our real values. We fritter away cash on things we don’t cherish and deny ourselves those things we do.”

Julia suggests using a notepad to track everything. I personally use a budgeting app that connects with my bank account to track all my spending habits. The key takeaway for me this week is checking how my values align with where my money is going!

I also really enjoyed the “Money Madness, An Exercise” at the end of the chapter.

Complete the following phrases:

1. People with money are ________

2. Money makes people ________

3. I’d have more money if ________

There are 20 of these sentences to complete. These are just the first three.

I want to redo this chapter again once we complete the 12 weeks as I got so much benefit from it. I really enjoyed learning about belief systems around money and how to see through them.

We are halfway through the 12 weeks! Let’s keep the momentum going!

Did you experience any synchronicities this week?

Were there any issues this week that you consider significant for your recovery?

Week 5 - The Artist's Way Recap

Graham Wardle

Week 5 Complete!

I really enjoyed speaking with you all this week on our Zoom Call. Lots of great feedback and discussion about the reading this week and personal experiences. What an honour it is to take this journey with you all. the week's tasks. Participants shared that the chapter prompted reflection on themes such as criticism, shame, anger, and synchronicity, with several sharing personal stories about how these topics impacted their creative journeys. Creative exercises ranged from painting and basketball to digital projects and exploring art virtually, highlighting diverse approaches to nurturing one's inner artist. The importance of supporting one another in group discussions, honoring individual pacing, and creating space for authentic expression was emphasized throughout the meeting. Participants were encouraged to be gentle with themselves, adapt creatively when faced with obstacles, and continue engaging with the material even if they encounter challenges along the way.

Timestamped Overview

00:00 Exploring ideas in group discussions

05:23 Discussing criticism and self-worth

06:28 Handling criticism and emotional growth

09:50 Using honestly share how they were feeling and how their week had gone with the Artist Date, Morning Pages, and weekly tasks. Participants rated their experiences on a scale and shared both successes and areas where they struggled.

Graham reflected on key insights from the reading, highlighting quotes about the value of paying attention and allowing delight into life, and emphasized the importance of showing up for the creative process, even on less inspired days. He also mentioned the idea of balancing structure with flexibility—getting tasks done early in the week and giving oneself space to reflect and adapt.

Several participants, including Bie, Linda, and others, shared their Artist Date stories. These included creative experiments like making affirmation cards with ChatGPT, finding community at concerts, navigating solo activities, and, in Bie’s case, handling unexpected challenges with humour and resilience after a playful outing ended in injury. Conversations often returned to core themes: overcoming the inner critic, reframing setbacks, and noticing the support, connection, and inspiration available within the group and the wider world.

Breakout rooms continued to be a central part of the format, providing safe spaces for deeper sharing. Graham encouraged respecting personal boundaries—sharing as much or as little as felt comfortable—and emphasized that the group’s role is to witness, not fix, each other. The importance of self-honor, mutual respect, and compassionate curiosity remained at the heart of the group dynamic.

The session wrapped up with logistical notes about breakout room timing, open-ended space for further group insights, and Graham’s encouragement to start weekly reading early, make the most of the group experience, and cherish the process as a sacred creative opportunity. Gratitude and inspiration closed out the session, reminding everyone that creative recovery is a journey of presence, openness, and playful self-discovery.

Timestamped Overview

00:00 Finding joy through paying attention

03:57 Talking about vivid dreams

06:35 Sharing creative progress together

10:29 Recovering from a ram attack

16:21 Exploring creativity and self-recovery

18:32 Reflecting on a park moment

23:08 Tips for easier artist dates

24:45 Childlike fun and creativity

30:02 Exploring organic group conversations

34:13 Balancing structure with flexibility

35:07 Reflecting on creativity and gratitude

Summary and Timestamped Overview were generated by Castmagic

Week 1 - The Artist's Way Recap

Graham Wardle

Hello my fellow Artists!

Thank you for being apart of this journey and investing your time and energy into recovering and discovering more of your creativity.

For those who aren’t able to make our weekly zoom calls and are instead meeting privately, please share your insights and experiences of the Artist Date and any of your answers to the “Tasks” at the end of the chapter.

Don’t share your morning pages!

I sound like a broken record on this point but it’s important to honour your creative recovery. Make sure you have the book and have started reading.

Groups & Cohorts: This meeting helps everyone find or confirm their small breakout group for the journey. Groups of 4 are ideal for diversity and manageable meetings, but you can do the program solo if you prefer.

Honour Yourself: Respect your own pace and limits. If you’re dealing with mental health issues or working with a professional, check in with them before participating deeply.

Ground Rules:

We’re here to witness, not fix each other.

Practice active, compassionate listening. No crosstalk or interrupting.

Respect each other’s privacy, especially regarding the Morning Pages.

Morning Pages: Write three pages longhand each morning as an uncensored flow of thoughts. Keep them private, don’t share them with anyone (even group members).

Artist Dates: Take yourself on a weekly solo “artist date”. Something fun, playful, and creative to nurture your inner artist/child. It doesn’t have to cost money or be complicated.

Weekly Check-ins: Rate your openness and share how you’re feeling each week on a scale from 1-5. Honesty and honouring where you’re at is important.

Logistics:

Use breakout rooms to connect with your group.

Exchange contact info to stay in touch and support each other.

If your first group doesn’t feel right, try another. Honour your intuition.

If you missed a group: More time will be given next week to find your group. It’s okay to take your time or take the journey solo.

Encouragement: This is a long journey and it’s normal to feel hesitant or want to quit at some point. Be gentle on yourself, play, have fun, and honour your unique process.

Final Note: Don’t stress if you haven’t figured everything out or still need a group or the book. Keep moving forward at your own pace. The main thing is to keep showing up for yourself and your creative process.

Timestamped Overview

00:00 Group Dynamics & Meeting Support

03:53 “Prioritize Mental Health Support”

09:21 “Mastering Active, Empathetic Listening”

10:10 “Compassionate Listening and Morning Pages”

16:09 Imaginary Lives Icebreaker Activity

18:21 “Group Connection & Creative Tools”

21:39 “Tap Into Playful Creativity”

26:21 “Honoring Yourself Through Challenges”

27:58 “12-Week Creative Journey Intention”

30:28 “Honour Yourself and Your Journey”

Join the chat to connect with other participants of The Artist’s Way!

Key Points and Timestamped Overview generated by Castmagic.io

Self Hosted Meetings for The Artist's Way

Format and Structure Suggestions

Graham Wardle

Hey Everyone!

We just finished our orientation on Zoom for The Artist’s Way. For some of you, the Sunday meetings aren’t ideal for your schedule and you have decided with your group to meet on another day. This is a great adjustment so you can commit to the entire 12 weeks.

Below are some suggestions I have found from Julia Cameron’s website and others who have run their own groups. This is how I will be running the Zoom meetings and I would encourage you to follow a similar approach.

1. The Core Structure

The Twelve-Week Process: Commit to meeting once a week for the full twelve weeks, covering one chapter per gathering.

Time Commitment: Allocate around two hours for each meeting to allow everyone space to be heard without rushing.

Brave Talk: You can use your preferred video conferencing app like Zoom, FaceTime or WhatsApp for your meetings. Brave Talk is a free tool that works the same as Zoom and is free for up to four people for an unlimited amount of time and number of meetings. Check it out here!

The Size of the Circle: While your total group can be larger, when it comes time to share exercises, try to break into groups of four. Five can become unwieldy, and three often doesn’t provide enough contrasting experience.

2. Guidelines for the Heart

No Gurus: Every person is an equal part of the collective. Facilitators must also do the morning pages, the artist dates, and share their own creative risks.

Listen Without “Fixing”: We are intended to witness, not control, one another. When someone shares, go around the circle without commenting or trying to “help” them. Each group’s “song” is unique; let it be.

Morning Pages are Private: Do not share your morning pages with the group. They are between you and God/The Great Creator/Divine.

3. Running the Meeting

A successful meeting flows through connection and reflection:

The Landing: Start with a brief “check-in.” Ask, “How are you feeling?”. Allow each person a minute or two to speak their truth. Whether they feel “hungry” or are experiencing a “creative breakthrough”.

Chapter Reflection: Instead of reading the chapter aloud, discuss what resonated. Talk about your self-discoveries, your confusion, or even your disagreements with the text.

The Exercises: Do the exercises from the chapter in order during the meeting. Everyone, including the facilitator, answers the questions and then shares their responses within their small cluster.

4. Supporting the Journey

Expect Change: Not everyone will finish the twelve weeks, and that is okay. Be prepared for “Creative U-Turns” around week eight to ten, when the fear of the group ending might make people want to pull away. Face this truth together to stay strong.

Be Kind: Relapse is part of the process. If you miss a day of pages or a week of tasks, relax and be self-loving.

5. If Someone Misses a Meeting

Life happens, and creative recovery is not about perfection.

No Big Deal: If a member misses a week, they should simply continue with their individual morning pages and the next chapter’s tasks.

Stay Connected: Use a group text or email to share “ephemeral moments” or photos from Artist Dates between meetings to keep the momentum alive.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" I absolutely love creating these for you.

If you have simply been reading along and haven’t found the time or courage yet to write your own poems, that’s okay. You still have time. I want to invite you to go through the exercises and just see what comes up. Don’t worry about it being like anyone else’s writing. What you put into it, you’ll get out of it. So invest the time in yourself and allow your own creativity to surprise you.

You got this.

Week 4 - Spirituality

This week is my favourite topic as it is so difficult to use words for that which exists beyond the mind and language. God, Divine, Higher Power or Universe. However you refer to that which brings the magic and blessings into your life, I want you to know that I respect you and acknowledge your own journey and practice.

For our final week of this amazing writing challenge I was inspired to give you all a focal point that has been deeply meaningful to me, Spiritual Strength.

I will clarify this topic as best I can with examples and personal experiences so you can have the best writing session for this week. Then I will give you an exercise to cultivate all your own visions, feelings and vibrations to write your poem.

Sound good? moments in our life that were challenging for us. The death of a loved one, an accident or illness. Bankruptcy or betrayal. For many people the last four years of COVID caused significant stress and loss. Yet I bet you can remember a challenge that you overcame that cultivated a new found inner strength, a spiritual strength.

Think of a time where you overcame a difficult situation and are now stronger internally and spiritually because of it. There are no wrong answers.

Our focus for this week is going to be writing a poem that we can use to anchor us in this spiritual strength.

Strong Foundation

A quick backstory to expand the depth of this week’s topic for you.

I was reading a book by Helene Hadsell, “The Name It & Claim It Game” and I was presented with a question about future goals. It was the first time in my life I couldn’t fully articulate a goal of mine in a way that felt authentic. I wanted to focus on a goal for the exercise in the book but I was sensing something deeper was missing. It perplexed me as I could list of a number of goals and things I wanted to accomplish but in that moment none of them felt aligned. I felt like there was something much bigger that wanted my attention and focus but I wasn’t yet aware of it.

I decided to lie down for a nap with my book on my chest and allow myself to drift into the half sleep state. It was in this restful and yet still aware state I was given a gift of an insight.

I wanted all these goals and dreams in my life to come true but I was also secretly afraid of this expansion and growth. Would I be able to handle a new cruising altitude? Would I self sabotage or be unable to handle the next level of challenge?

It was in that moment I became aware of what I was truly seeking, Spiritual Strength. I wondered what it would be like to consciously choose to deepen my spiritual strength. How might I step into this directly so I could build more inner strength to take on these goals and dreams I wanted to create?

This week’s writing exercise is my offering of an answer to you.

Exercise

Grab your pen and paper and make sure you have at least 20 minutes of focused time to go through this process.

Write out the most significant life challenge that you’ve overcome so far.

For me it was leaving my previous relationship while also departing from the most successful acting job I had to date.

Choose a moment from this challenging time that truly reflects the difficulty and impact of this circumstance.

I was standing in front of the bathroom mirror after my shower and thought I was going to die from cancer in less than a year. I immediately knew I needed make a dramatic change in my life’s direction.

Now we are going to take 5 to 10 minutes with our eyes closed to revisit this past version of ourselves. My invitation to you is to begin by closing your eyes and envisioning yourself floating above this difficult moment. Allow yourself to feel a loving compassion for this past version of yourself while you just witness them for the first minute. Next, I invite you to feel whatever needs to be said, done or witnessed that would bring more support for your past self at that moment. Feel it come through you and experience it in your imagination. Use some music if it helps you!

I can’t tell you why this is happening Graham but I will tell you that you need to go through this. It’s not because you are being punished or are unloved. You did nothing wrong. You need to know how much goodness you have within you. You have a powerful heart and are a loving soul. I know this is scary. I know this feels like you won’t be able to survive. I get it. You need to know that you will make it and you will thrive. We are here for you. You are loved. Ask us for help. We are your guardians, we are your helpers. Give yourself the space to honour your journey and what you’re feeling. You’re growing into a new dimension and will be blessed beyond what you thought possible. Stay connected to your heart so you can feel God’s presence and guidance. We love you, God’s love surrounds you always and you love yourself enough to get through this. We are always here to support you. We are here if you need us. Keep going.

Use this visualization to then craft a poem of this support you felt and shared with this past version of yourself.

Angels, Guides and Helpers

You may experience a sense that there are others with you when you return to this previous moment of struggle. I was surprised when this happened for me as I was not expecting this to be the case. If you don’t believe in Angels, Guides or Helpers you may experience a spirit animal or simply extra love and support. I share this with you so that you are aware of and open to the possibility of extra loving care being there for you.

As I was doing this exercise for myself I made a profound connection that I hope will inspire your own.

I realized that the loving guides that were with me when I was doing this exercise were also the exact same beings that I was working with during my first float tank experience. I’ve always believed in my guides but hadn’t yet discovered a way to connect with them on a regular basis and feel their love and support.

My first time encountering my guides was during my a float tank experience where I spent 90 minutes in a salt water tank in complete darkness and silence. It was after relaxing myself and surrendering to love that I was able to leave my physical body and join my guides who appeared as beings of light and love. They were all focused on healing and supporting the soul journey of Graham. This experience then led me to an expanded state of cosmic love which later became the basis for all existence. It always has been and always will be.

After doing this week’s writing exercise for myself, I realized these guides have always been with me. They have always been supporting me even when I am unaware or afraid. I’ve come to the conclusion they will always be here for me and I can open myself to their support along with God’s love at anytime. All I need to do is open my heart and ask for their support.

Integration

This writing challenge has been profound for me to experience along with you all. I now see how my yearning for growth in these four areas of my life has led me to a deeper sense of peace, love, support and enthusiasm. My intention is that you will also find a deeper sense of appreciation and sacredness in your life after investing your time to craft these four poems.

I invite you to see this as a new beginning for your writing journey. Continue exploring yourself and your desires. Envisioning your future life while making peace with your past. Writing for love, for peace and for inspiration.

You can return to these exercises and journal prompts in the future to recalibrate and align yourself again.

Anchoring the Vision

Once you’re finished your poem, place it somewhere meaningful. Take a moment to reflect and give thanks for this new found depth of your spiritual strength and support.

If you’re open to sharing your experience or your poem, I encourage you to post it in a comment. Your words might inspire someone else to take a leap of faith of their own.

Celebration

Wednesday, February 5th we are going to do a Group Chat here on Time Has Come where you can share your experience with this writing challenge and even read one of your poems if you so choose. href="https://unsplash.com/@nathan_mcb?utm_content=creditCopyText&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=unsplash">Nathan McBride

I am so thrilled to be sharing this week’s focus with you all. I was in a deep prayer the other day and I got this insight that has been helping me and I can’t wait to share it with you all.

I was asking for guidance on how to dive deeper into my purpose work more, and the answer I received was to simply step into the feeling of what I want to experience when I’m giving and offering my best. Envision it, feel it and embody it daily. Simple enough right? So I now take a few minutes in the morning after my meditation and prayer to simply step into the feelings of serving and contributing at my best.

Before we go any further, I want to invite you to do this with me. Then we will further refine and hone this energy into this week’s poem.

Tuning In

The best method I’ve found is to focus your attention inward and close your eyes. You can do it with your eyes open, but make sure you are able to tune out the outside world and avoid distractions. The key here is to get into the energetic state of your Golden Ticket or your most loving and generous self. Envision and feel the experience of giving your best and living your best. If you don’t know exactly what that looks like, that’s okay! Focus on what you want to feel. Feel it and let it soak into your being.

My favourite way to get into this state is to move my body with some music. It’s hard to dance to your favourite tunes and not be feeling your best. So take 5 minutes and throw on your favourite track. You got to give it at least an 8/10 for your enthusiasm of dance moves! The more you get into it the more benefit you’ll get from this exercise. Here is a sample track that you may enjoy grooving to 👇🏼

If you’re unable to dance at the moment or prefer a more gentle approach, you can simply sit with your eyes closed and turn inward to feel those beautiful feelings. Find what works for you and honour your process of getting there. Ask yourself, “What does it feel like to give my best?” Explore where you feel it in your body and how this energy moves within you. This exploration and questioning will help you focus on the feelings and magnify them. As you focus on it, the feeling will automatically expand.

Take Notes!

Grab your pen and paper and write down the feelings you experienced, any visions that came to mind or insights you gained. Just write them down.

Example:

I feel expanded and courageous. I’m excited and filled with energy to be alive! I love exploring the depths of the human spirit and celebrating the journey of life. I feel sharp and focused. My feet are floating off the ground and I feel like I’m flying. I am deeply humbled and feel connected to the earth for strength and optimism. I have everything I need to take the next step. Whatever I don’t have now will present itself when the time is right. There are no limitations to what I can contribute when I am aligned with my heart and focus my mind. I am blessed with everything I need in this moment. I am blessed beyond, I want to share it all with others. Concentrate, Consecrate, Celebrate.

Poem Exercise:

Now you can work with this material to form your poem. Allow it to arrange itself and speak to you. I will often read my notes over and over again to see what pops off the page and what feels like it needs more expansion. The poem is within this feeling and state of being. Allow it to be revealed to you as you feel and play with the words.

If you ever feel stuck or hit a road block, go for a walk and shake your body out. You’ll be able to feel when you’re in the groove of the poem and when you’re forcing it out. Return to your inner feelings and turn on some music if you need to.

The emotional state is the goal. The poem is simply a creative expression of what it feels like for you. Who cares if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else? You have your own style and uniqueness, so honour it and allow it to shine through.

Anchoring the Vision

Once you’re finished, place your poem somewhere meaningful, just as you did with last week’s. Take a moment to reflect and give thanks for this newfound depth of purpose.

If you’re open to sharing your experience or your poem, I encourage you to post it in the comments. Your words might inspire someone else to take a leap of faith of their own.

Continued Blessings!

Graham

(AI* ChatGPT was used for spell check and grammar improvements)

January Writer's Challenge - Week 2

Relationships

Graham Wardle

Week 2: Relationships

Welcome back,

Wow, it was so cool to read through all your poems and supportive messages in last week’s comment section. Even if you’ve had some difficulties or challenging relationships in the past, this is an opportunity for you to focus on creating higher quality relationships going forward.

First let’s take a moment and contemplate the relationship we have with ourselves.

It is in this relationship that we determine how we show up for every other one. If we cross our own boundaries then we allow others to cross them as well. If we speak negatively to ourselves then we can also entertain negative thoughts about others and their behaviours.

The opposite is also true.

If we allow ourselves the space to feel and process our emotions without judgement or impatience then we also are much more likely to extend that compassion to others. If we speak positively about ourselves when we are struggling or being challenged then we also tend to feel inspired to support others more through their journey.

So this week we are going to combine our vision of our relationship to ourselves with our relationships to others. My invitation is to first start with yourself and then connect it to others around you.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" all have different ways of cultivating a stronger relationship with ourselves. One of my favourite methods is taking myself for a walk and envisioning another version of myself walking beside me. Anything I’m struggling with or feeling uneasy about I externalize that issue onto this other version of me. I ask them to speak to me about how they are feeling. I listen and walk beside them like a friend. I’m not trying to solve their problems or dismiss them. I’m simply listening to them and sharing my compassion for their struggles. What works best for me is if I speak out loud to them and when they are speaking I am quiet and I feel their words.

Even if I don’t feel particularly upset about anything, a nice walk outside with a check-in helps to keep my relationship strong. Maybe there are dreams or aspirations that need to be heard or felt. Creating this space for myself to open up and express what is going on has become a great self directed relationship building exercise for me.

If you have difficulty with mobility at the moment or are unable to get outside for a walk, you can also do this exercise on paper. Simply write out a conversation between yourself and another version of yourself. I’ve done this many times when I wanted to work out my thoughts. The key here is to make sure you don’t try to quickly solve the issues, challenges or dilemmas. Use the conversation to ask questions and hold space for this part of you to express itself in the way it needs to be heard. Compassion and patience is the best approach. If an answer or insight emerges, great! If not, simply allow this other version of yourself to be heard and seen.

Journal Prompt: What do you feel?

Take yourself out for a walk. Imagine another version of you walking beside yourself. Speak to them as if they were actually there. Ask them out loud how they are feeling. Wait and listen for a response. Feel their words in your heart and mind. Take at least 15 minutes to speak with and listen to yourself.

I briefly shared this idea in my Winter Walk video on Substack Live. You can watch that by clicking here.

Paper Example:

If you cannot get outside to do this exercise, you can also do this on paper. Here is a quick example:

Graham: What’s going on?

G: Hey, good to hear from you again.

Graham: I wanted to check-in and see how you are doing?

G: I’m good. Tired. Looking forward to some rest and play soon.

Graham: Yeah?

G: I just want to play more without having to always think about work.

Graham: I hear you. I want to focus on that with you. Next time we are out having some fun and you catch me thinking or stressing about work can you give me a reminder?

G: Sure. What do you think would catch your attention?

Graham: The sun. I’ll use the sun as my reminder to stay present and let go of the future worries.

G: Oh, I love that!

If you’re going to do this exercise on paper then I would like to suggest you spend at least 15 minutes as well. Keep writing and keep asking questions. You’ll be surprised at what emerges when you give yourself the space to listen and feel.

Poem Exercise:

Now that you’ve taken the time to connect to yourself and be present with what is going on internally, you can now start building out the foundation of your poem.

Get comfortable and put on some of your favourite music. I personally like something like the song below to ground me and connect me deeper.

Start writing down the feelings and thoughts about where you want to show up for yourself more. How do you want to treat yourself? What does it feel like when you develop a stronger and healthier relationship with yourself?

Example:

I feel this thick and strong cord between us. A feeling of deep love and support. A friend that has my back and I have his. I love his authenticity and eagerness to celebrate life. I haven’t always been there for him but I now see how I can be a better friend. I know he wants me to be happy and I want the same for him. I listen to him and stand up for his dreams and aspirations. I honour his gifts and speak affirmations of encouragement to him regularly. I use the sun as a constant reminder of our bond and connection in the present moment. I love that he is so patient with me and forgiving. Shoulder to shoulder we stand for life and for love.

Fantastic. Now that you’ve taken the time to write this out, anchor this reality into yourself by feeling grateful for this strengthening of your relationship to yourself. Please take a moment to acknowledge this.

Almost ready to write!

Before we begin our writing process, it’s important we envision our connection to others with this new found depth within ourselves.

Close your eyes and imagine your new strength and gratitude spilling over to those you care about. Friends, family and loved ones. See them interacting with you. Feel them around you now. Envision these people having healthy relationships with themselves as well.

Pen to Paper!

Get out your notepad and start writing your poem. Add in the visions, thoughts and ideas you’ve now experienced as you envisioned this new depth within yourself spilling over into your closest relationships.

Write it all out on paper. Don’t try and get it perfect the first time. Just write it out and allow it all to show you where it needs to go and what needs to be said.

This is for you! If you want to share it, great! If not, great! This poem is a marker on your own journey. Honour it and allow it to unfold as it needs to.

Be patient with yourself and enjoy the process.

Anchoring the Vision

Once you’re finished, place your poem somewhere meaningful, just as you did with last week’s poem. Take a moment to reflect and give thanks for this new found depth of relationship.

If you’re open to sharing your experience or your poem, I encourage you to post it in a comment. Your words might inspire someone else to take a leap of faith of their own.

I’ll see you all next week as we explore passion, work and creative gifts.

Continued Blessings,

Graham

(AI was not used for this post)

January Writer's Challenge - Week 1

New Year, New You

Graham Wardle

Here we go! 2025 has begun!

Before we dive into the new writer’s challenge I want to take a moment to congratulate all the participants in our previous writing challenges. I’ve been reviewing and approving different aspects of the “Path of Poetry - Discover The Writer Within” and I’m thrilled that so many of you participated and gave it your all.

So what’s the vision for this next challenge?

This challenge is about self-improvement, self-awareness, and tuning into your heart to craft the next chapter for your life. Whether you’ve participated before or are new to these writing challenges, this one will guide you to listen deeply to your inner guidance and allow it to inspire the life you desire to create.

The theme for this January challenge is centred on consciously creating your life. This challenge encourages you to not only have a vision but also to surrender to something even better that is in store for you. While you focus on the goals and dreams you wish to create, the key is to anchor yourself in the emotional signature of how you will feel when you reach those goals.

This emotional signature is your target. As you move toward your goals, this feeling will align you with the best possible outcome. Remember, The Divine Plan is always greater than what you could imagine. There are also areas of your life you may not even realize need support, growth, or more celebration.

The Divine Plan is always waiting for you to take the leap of faith, so you can be blessed in ways beyond your imagination. When we create a vision, align ourselves with a higher power, do the inner work and then surrender to the blessings beyond our mind, our life expands beyond our wildest dreams. This is the message I am so passionate about sharing with people. I’ve been blessed in this way and I know many of you have as well. It’s impossible to experience it and not want to share it with everyone you meet.

So let’s start this year with a renewed focus on what is in our highest good, with our hearts and minds aligned. I invite you to explore your deepest desires and surrender to the blessings that life has in store for you.

Trust, Let Go & Be Open
<div deep into four key areas of life:

Week 1: Health – Envisioning your ideal state of physical and energetic well-being.

Week 2: Relationships – Building meaningful and supportive relationships that nurture your growth.

Week 3: Passion/Work/Creative Gifts – Detailing a fulfilling life where your passions and talents thrive.

Week 4: Spirituality – Expanding your connection to the Divine and deepening your own spiritual practice.

Week 1: Health

Before you start this week’s challenge, do something for yourself that you know is healthy. A brisk walk, a tall glass of lemon water or simply a nice hot shower or bath. This will signal to your subconscious mind that you are investing in your well being and get you into the right mindset to create this vision for yourself. Take a moment to give thanks for the health and vitality you do have in this moment. Avoid dwelling on any challenges you currently have and instead acknowledge we are all on a journey. You still have the opportunity to improve your well being today.

My personal favourite is cranking up my music to the max and grooving to my favourite songs!

After you’re done, grab a pen and paper and follow the journal prompt followed by the poem exercise.

Journal Exercise: Imagine yourself in your next chapter of ideal physical, emotional, and mental health. Take a few minutes to bring this vision to life in your imagination. Close your eyes. See the triumphs, the slip ups and the eventual progress that leads you to your destination. FEEL your health and energy. Play some of your favourite music and allow yourself to get into it.

Now write down any moments that you saw and feelings you could sense while you were imagining yourself in the next chapter of health in your life. Once you get in the groove, you can keep writing beyond what you saw in your imagination. Write in the present tense as if you are already living this life.

Example: I am dancing with my loved one. I feel confident and vibrant. I am climbing a waterfall in Hawaii with strength and courage. I am eating clean foods that revitalize my body at my very core. I can feel toxins leaving my body and restoring my energy to optimal levels. I am surprised how good I feel at my very core. I love running barefoot on the grass and smelling the fresh scents of summer. I love wrestling with my nephews and playing childhood games. I feel youthful and flexible. Alive and grateful for it all. I am so glad I chose to make my health a priority. I feel a deep sense of love gratitude for the sacred temple that my body is. I love feeling the vitality and energy within my body as I enjoy these final steps on my hike. My legs are sore but grateful for the challenge. I feel euphoric and blessed to be here. My lungs are rich with oxygen. I lay in bed and give thanks for an adventurous day outside. My body rests deeply and I allow all necessary healing to take place. I feel all my systems cleansing and reseting now.

Poem Exercise: Scan all the writing you just did for your journal prompt. Read out loud the feelings or moments that you envisions out lout. Which ones resonate the deepest with you? Focus on the sensory experiences and emotions of living this reality. Explore and expand upon the feelings and details of this moment. It could be a magic moment of playing tag with your grandchildren or completing your first marathon with your wife. It could also be as simple as putting on your favourite outfit and feeling confident and sexy. It’s up to you!

Great!

Now, place this poem somewhere you can see it on a regular basis. Your bathroom mirror, bedside table or maybe as a wallpaper on your mobile device. The key here is to READ it to yourself whenever you see it and FEEL it.

In the Secrets of the Lost Mode of Prayer, Author Gregg Braden offers an expanded interpretation of John 16:23-24, which he suggests reflects the original intent of the prayer based on older Aramaic texts. According to Braden, the passage reads: ‘All things that you ask straightly, directly… from inside my name, you will be given. So far, you have not done this. Ask without hidden motive and be surrounded by your answer. Be enveloped by what you desire, that your gladness be full.’ This interpretation emphasizes the emotional and energetic alignment in prayer, focusing on how feelings and intentions shape outcomes.

<a
